We currently have a need for a Consultant – Health and Welfare in our Dallas office. The Consultant will work closely with senior Hay Group Consultants in providing health and welfare consulting services. This includes developing, managing and executing health benefits consulting to help clients with the design, financing and administration of their health and welfare benefit programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in providing benefits consulting services to include some or all of the following:
    • Development and implementation of total remuneration strategies
    • Health and Welfare Benefits - Evaluating the competitive position of clients' benefits programs - employee health and welfare benefits plan design, implementation, communication and management.
    • Executive Benefits –Design and implementation of executive compensation and benefits.
    • Retirement - General and executive retirement benefits, and some retirement plan studies.
    • Design of qualified and non-qualified plans.
  • Serve as a hands-on project manager for benefits consulting projects in terms of people, budget and work plan to ensure a cohesive effort and satisfied clients.
  • Synthesize disparate information into crisp, coherent recommendations, and present, defend, and drive those recommendations to a variety of audiences.
  • Develop business and maintain strong client relationships. Participate and lead others in direct benefits marketing activities, responses to prospect inquiries, seminars, referrals, etc.
  • Contributes to office sales and marketing results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree and CEBS or CBP designation strongly preferred.
  • Ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience with increasing levels of responsibility in the benefits arena, identifying, designing, recommending and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions to clients' benefits challenges.
  • Business development and revenue generation, working for a management consulting firm, a plus.
  • Must have thorough, extensive knowledge of the practice area, including health and welfare benefits and executive benefits.
  • Strong client interfacing skills
  • Ability to work across the organization to ensure that both current and future client needs are anticipated and met.
  • Outstanding project management skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the benefits industry including vendors and trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand industry issues and problems, relate them to clients' needs, and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Familiarity with ERISA, federal tax law relating to employee benefits, HIPAA, COBRA and related law preferred.
