Job Summary

Directs the development of the strategy for total compensation pertaining to AA's executive compensation programs, including the design of officer salary structure, short-term and long-term incentive plans, non-qualified compensation plans.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor market trends, direct analyses and research to ensure compensation programs remain equitable and competitive
  • Coordinate agendas and manage the development of the presentation materials for the Board of Directors and Compensation Committee
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Secretary and Legal staff in preparing the annual Proxy Statement
  • Work in collaboration with Accounting, Tax, Legal and Finance to ensure executive compensation programs are compliant with IRS, SEC and other government regulations
  • Provide governance oversight to all incentive compensation plans at AA
  • Responsible for maintaining relationships and coordinating work with external consultants and vendors who support executive compensation
  • Oversee the administration of officer payroll, non-qualified compensation plans, stock plans, and AA's expatriate program
  • Stay informed of compensation trends, current and proposed state and federal legislation affecting compensation, and government compliance requirements

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Five to seven years' experience in compensation, finance, human resources or related field required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • MBA, CPA, CCP or other related certifications a plus. Familiarity with SEC and other federal laws governing executive compensation plans highly desirable
  • Must possess strong analytical and quantitative skills, including knowledge of accounting basics
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to present complex issues effectively with senior management and/or plan participants
  • Must be able to use discretion and judgment in making independent decisions related to the functions of the job to ensure confidentiality of employee compensation
  • Must possess a strong customer service orientation combined with demonstrated planning and organizing skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software
