Going Global: Trends and Issues in Global Compensation
Towers Watson will share recent trends and issues in global compensation. They will share client experiences, along with research results that highlight the reasons companies are moving toward global compensation programs. They will also outline key objectives and governance structures for such programs. Finally, they will share some of the challenges and lessons learned in global compensation design and implementation. Please come and participate in the discussion by sharing your own experiences with considering or implementing a global compensation program.
Edward J. Bucher, Towers Watson
Ed Bucher is a senior consultant in Towers Watson’s Rewards group focusing on developing and implementing global compensation and total rewards programs for our clients. Ed works on assignments ranging from domestic and global competitive market analysis and salary plan design to career-banding and incentive plan design; these include expertise in the disciplines of salary planning and administration program design, job analysis and evaluation, job description design, and performance management plan design. Ed is a regular speaker at client and Human Resource conferences.
Clients Ed has worked with include Newell Rubbermaid, AT&T/SBC, Mary Kay, BorgWarner, Best Buy, Roche Diagnostics, Diebold, Eaton Corporation, Mylan Labs, and Bucyrus.
Ed received an M.B.A. with a concentration in human resource management from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Management and a B.S.C., with Distinction, from DePaul’s College of Commerce, majoring in finance. He is a member of WorldatWork, the Human Resource Management Association of Chicago (HRMAC), and the Chicago Compensation Association, (CCA).
Laura Rickey, Towers Watson
Laura Rickey is a senior consultant in Towers Watson’s Rewards practice, located in the Dallas, TX, office. Laura has more than 15 years of experience developing and implementing reward and performance management strategies and programs in support of organizational goals and objectives for domestic and global organizations.
Rewards experience includes total rewards strategy development, competitive compensation review, base pay structure design and pay delivery guidelines implementation. Laura has also worked with clients in career ladder design, compensation program communications development and delivery, and exemption classification reviews.
Performance management experience includes system review, design and implementation for a number of organizations across a variety of industries.
Laura holds a Bachelor of Business Adminstration in Finance and Marketing from the University of Florida, and an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University. She is a member of WorldatWork, the North Texas Compensation Association and is a Certified Compensation Professional.
